TIME FOR ELECTION OF OFFICERS IN LOCAL LODGES

November will be the time for election of the 2022 Lodge Officers for Angola Lodge #236. If any member is interested in starting in the Officer Line or want to continue to move up the line, please let it be known to the current officers.

Most Lodges will have their elections in December. The same holds true that you need to let them know of your intentions.

ANGOLA LODGE TO INSTALL OFFICERS ON DECEMBER 7.

Angola Lodge held their elections in November. Officers to be installed December 7. A picture will be taken for local paper. Officers wear coat and tie. Meal at 6:15. Meeting 7:00 PM.

ANGOLA LODGE TO HOST CHRISTMAS MEAL ON DECEMBER 7 AND SANTA WILL BE ATTENDING FOR THE CHILDREN

Yes, Santa Claus will be at the Angola Masonic Lodge on its’ stated meeting night on December 7.

IT’S A POTLUCK SO BRING A PASSING DISH AND YOUR OWN EATING PLATES AND UTENSILS.

ANGOLA YORK RITE WILL DONATE THE HAM. BRING YOUR CHILDREN AND/OR GRANDCHILDREN.

BRING A WRAPPED GIFT FOR THE CHILDREN YOU BRING AS SANTA WILL HAND THE GIFTS OUT. SANTA WILL WANT THEM TO SIT ON HIS LAP FOR A PICTURE.

The meal will start at 6:00 PM, with Santa arriving around 6:30 to hand out presents. Bring your camera. The stated meeting will start at 7:00 PM.

Feast of St. John the Evangelist

Note – Reservations needed as explained below.

The host Lodge for the two county Feast of St. John (Steuben and DeKalb) will be on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Star Lodge #225 in Orland.

Gather at 6:00 PM – Meal at 6:30 PM – Table Lodge to follow. Masons from any Masonic Lodge may attend.

The speaker will be Brother Richard Lentz, Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons of Indiana.

In the early days of Masonry the Lodges sometimes would meet in taverns and would make toasts to Masonry and the leaders of the craft. Today we do a similar assembly, but do it in a Lodge dining room. It will include a festive evening meal, toasts made to honor the days of old, the current fraternity, the Grand Lodge, our Blue Lodges, etc. It is important to honor those men of old and todays’ leaders to keep the Masonic concepts alive and well.

The evening also includes the passing of a basket to collect money for a brother in need.

Since a meal is involved, reservations are necessary. YOU MUST REPORT YOUR ATTENDANCE TO JIM MILLEMAN, MEMBER OF ORLAND LODGE AT

CONCORD LODGE TO HOLD BIRTHDAY EVENT

Jim Dwyer, past Secretary of Concord Lodge, will turn 90 on January 21, 2022. His family is having a 90th birthday celebration on Sunday December 5, 2021 as Jim's children go to Florida for the winter and won't be around on the January 21. Jim probably will be in Florida as well.

Northeastern Lodge #210

Continues its’ Monday morning coffee and donuts at the Fremont Lodge. They will continue to meet throughout the summer. Meet around 8:00 AM for fellowship and leave when necessary.

Northeastern Lodge #210 will have a Master Mason degree on Wednesday, December 15.

STAR LODGE #225 (Orland)

The Officers of Star Lodge invites Masons to attend a function at their Lodge to see the new carpet and new officer and sideline wooden seats that were received from the Odd Fellows Lodge. There is a new “look” in their Lodge room.

NORTHEAST INDIANA SOUJOURNER’S DESIRES TO CHARTER A NEW CHAPTER OF MASONIC VETERANS

Masonic Brethren in Ft. Wayne and Warsaw are looking into starting a National Sojourner’s Chapter for Northeast Indiana. This group does not have to assign a Lodge as its sponsor. The plans are to organize a group in our part of the State, with the location of meetings/activities rotating to various sites. The planned events will be held at a restaurant, Lodges, VFW, American Legion Posts, etc.

The minimum number to charter a new Chapter is 18 members. This is a Masonic Military Veterans Order in American. The contact person is Dathan Reed, WM of Warsaw Lodge #73. His email is dathanreed@hotmail.com. Contact him if you have an interest in being a Charter Member. Phone – 1-574-377-1236.

ANGOLA YORK RITE STATED MEETING

ANGOLA YORK RITE

The Angola York Rite next scheduled stated meeting is on Thursday, December 2. There will be a meal starting around 6:15 PM, followed by the business meeting.

York Rite will open on the Commandery Order with Brant Moore, Eminent Commander presiding, so officers be prepared.

At this stated meeting Angola Commandery will complete its inspection responsibilities by doing the 10 Man Officer opening. Officers are to wear Commandery uniforms and prepare to be scored by the Deputy Battalion Commander. Circumstances at the Annual Inspection in October did not allow a portion of the work to be completed. OFFICERS ARE TO WEAR THEIR UNIFORM, WITH CHAPEAU AND SWORD.

ANGOLA MASONIC LODGE TO HOST YORK RITE DEGREE WORK

In 2022 Angola Masonic Lodge will host the first Saturday of the 49th consecutively held Tri-State Festival on February 26, 2022. The second Saturday of the festival will be held on March 5, 2022 in Michigan Center, Michigan. All 9 degrees and orders will be conferred.

The festival will allow Master Masons to join York Rite. Angola York Rite is one of the strongest York Rite bodies in Indiana and welcome local Master Masons to join. IF YOU BEEN CONSIDERING JOINING – NOW IS THE TIME. The initiation fee is $125 which includes your 2022 dues.

York Rite extends lessons learned in the Blue Lodge degrees. It allows you to better understand the meaning of the Master Mason degree in particular. Lessons include how the use working tools in Masonry to build your spiritual temple, how to receive your wages, learn the Masters

Word and its meaning (the word was lost in the Maser Mason degree), and eventually become a Sir Knight of the Knights Templar. You will not regret joining – I assure you!

The 2021 presiding officers in the east for Angola York Rite are: High Priest of Angola Chapter #58 is Jay Minick.

Illustrious Master of Angola Council #27 is Dan Ernsberger. Eminent Commander of Angola Commandery #45 is Brant Moore. The Secretary/Recorder for all three bodies is Jimmie Milleman.

ANGOLA YEOMEN OF YORK PRECEPTORY #2

Angola Yeomen of York Preceptory #2 held their Annual Meeting, on October 16 at the Angola Moose Lodge. Membership into the Yeomen of York is by invitation only.

Bobbi Roberts, a member of Angola Preceptory #2, is the current Grand Director General. Lloyd Atterson, PGDG and current Adjutant General of the Grand Preceptory of the Indiana Yeomen of York has made tremendous strides in recovering from a fall earlier in the year. After intensive rehabilitation, he will soon be able to drive and attend Masonic functions.

NEXT STATED MEETINGS

NEXT VALLEY EVENT – FUN NIGHT – NO STATED MEETING

The next get together will be Tuesday, December 14, which will be a social event at Rudy’s in Ft. Wayne. Rudy’s is located at 409 Breckenridge, near the downtown ballpark. There will be NO stated meeting that night – just fun and food. Enjoy pizza, libations, cigars and fellowship. Starts at 6:00 PM and ends when you are ready to go home!

The next stated meeting will be on Tuesday, January 11 at Mizpah Shrine.

CONSIDERING JOINING SCOTTISH RITE??

The fee for the initiation is $100. After June 2022, it will increase to

$150. You need to petition and turn in your fee to start the process. Call Paul Friend (260-402-6122) for more details.

THE FT. WAYNE VALLEY SCOTTISH RITE VALLEY AND TOLEDO OHIO

VALLEY WILL HAVE A REUNION (Class of new candidates) ON SATURDAY, APRIL 2, 2022 IN LIMA OHIO. This will be another opportunity for Master Masons to join Scottish Rite next year.

WAYNE VALLEY SCOTTISH RITE TO OFFER NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS

The nursing scholarships that are the Valley oversees, paid out $65,000 in aid to nursing students last year. Recipients of these scholarships must live in the Ft. Wayne Valley territory and attend a certified Nursing program and maintain a certain GPA. Details will be available early in 2022. A Masonic tie is not a requirement for this scholarship.

POKAGON SHRINE CLUB TO HOLD HOLIDAY PARTY

Saturday, December 4 is the date for the Pokagon Shrine Club Holiday Party at the Hatchery in Angola. A large attendance is anticipated.

POKAGON SHRINE CLUB

NO STATED MEETING IN DECEMBER. The Pokagon Shrine Club will have its’ next stated meeting on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Glendarin Golf Course in Angola. You can order from the menu starting around 6:00 PM, with the meeting starting at 7:00 PM. The Club is looking to continue meeting on the third Wednesday of each month.

MIZPAH SHRINE WILL HAVE A CIRCUS IN 2022 – ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 28. MORE DETAILS LATER.
